Elevating mid mall retail

Since 2010, we have partnered with Sky to continuously evolve their mid-mall retail experience. What began as a pilot concept has grown into a fully developed family of formats, from iconic Westfield and Intu estates, through the Engage units, to the latest Next Gen evolution.

Each phase has responded to shifts in product innovation and customer expectation, balancing immersive TV storytelling with efficient mobile merchandising. The result is a premium, highly adaptable retail environment that has matured alongside Sky’s brand and product ecosystem.

The Problem

Mid-mall retail demands immediate impact. Open on all sides and positioned within high-footfall environments, the units must compete visually while remaining commercially efficient and operationally robust.

Over the years, Sky’s product portfolio has evolved significantly, most notably with the launch of Sky Glass, their first TV with Sky built in. This innovation required the mid-mall concept to adapt once again. The format needed to hero a full-scale TV experience within a compact footprint, while continuing to accommodate mobile devices from leading brands and maintaining strong brand visibility from every approach.

As part of our long-standing partnership, we were tasked with refining and future-proofing the existing family of units to elevate the brand and better communicate the premium value of Sky’s offering.

The Solution

Evolution has been carefully layered across the estate. A modular system enables flexibility across 86 sites while maintaining consistent brand presence and natural flow from every approach.

The iconic illuminated glass fin, a distinctive feature present across all formats, establishes a clear Sky brand signature to punctuate the busy mall environment. Subsequent iterations refined materiality and detailing, introducing warmer finishes and enhanced framing to elevate perceived quality.

Integrated merchandising balances hero Sky Glass TV demo moments with peripheral device displays, ensuring clarity, symmetry and commercial efficiency within a compact footprint.

The Result

Sky’s mid-mall kiosks have proven consistently high performing across 86 locations, functioning as immersive demo environments and effective sales spaces for advisors. The formats have stood the test of time, delivering a competitive, premium and adaptable brand presence that continues to evolve with Sky’s retail strategy.
